How to plant well in your garden
Step 1:
Planting soil improves the structure of your garden soil
Light soils
(sandy soils) are very porous. Whilst they are well aired, they cannot store a lot of water and nutrients. Valuable humus is broken down quickly and the plants get into danger of starving or dying of thirst.

Heavy soils
(clay or loam soils) are very dense so that the roots do not get enough air and heat. In summer, they harden quickly and then do not absorb sufficient water any more. The root growth is retarded and the whole plant suffers.
Ideal soils
(improved with planting soil) are loose and contain a lot of humus, because only a soil rich in humus is a vigorous basis for healthy plants. Micro-organisms ensure perfect biological conditions - they are rich in nutrients and retain them well; they provide a good water, oxygen and heat balance.
