How to repot properly
Step 1: Why should I repot?
When the plant grows above ground, the roots need more space as well to absorb more food and water. Then, slowly but surely, the old pot will become too small. Furthermore, as time goes by harmful salts will deposit which cannot be washed out even with intensive watering.
Depending on the type of plant and how quickly it grows you should therefore repot your plants in a yearly to 3-yearly cycle. It is high time when the roots are already growing out of the hole in the bottom of the pot. The best repotting time is spring or just after flowering. During the main growing and flowering period however the plants need all their strength for growing and cannot take the stress of repotting very well.
